About FixMySpeaker
Test it before you repair or replace it.
FixMySpeaker is a set of 29 free diagnostic tools that run entirely in your browser. There is no app to install, no account, and nothing you play or press is uploaded. Tests coveraudio, mouse, keyboard.
How the tools work
Every page follows the same rule: Test → Diagnose → Fix. A tool first checks whether the hardware actually misbehaves, then says what the result means, then points to the next step — clean it, dry it, change a setting, or stop and look at repair.
- Cleaning and test tones are generated live with the Web Audio API as capped sine waves so they do not clip. The Tone Generator also offers square, sawtooth and triangle waves at a lower ceiling, because those carry more energy. The water eject tone glides between 165 Hz and 250 Hz because every phone speaker resonates at a slightly different frequency.
- Mouse and keyboard tests read raw browser input events and timestamps. Where a browser cannot measure something reliably — for example very high polling rates — the page says so instead of guessing.
- Device and symptom guides link to the manufacturer support pages they were checked against.
The full details — signals, timing limits and sourcing — are on How our tests work.
What we will not claim
A sound can only move water or loose dust sitting in a speaker grille. It cannot repair a torn diaphragm, corrosion or a loose connector. We do not publish “98% success” or “100% safe” numbers, and every cleaning page explains when to stop and get the device repaired.
